Prof Deqiang Ji explains Globalization as one of the most important drivers of Chinese Media Education

ISLAMABAD, November 16: The seventh session of the Online internship Program, Evolving China in the Modern World was held on Monday, This internship program is initiated jointly by the Center for Global & Strategic Studies(CGSS), Islamabad, and the Communication University of China, Beijing, The theme for the seventh session of this internship was related to the Media Research and Education in Contemporary China and if was conducted by, Professor Deqiang Ji, Vice Dean, Institute for a Community with Shared Future, the Communication University of China, Beijing, China. The session was commenced by the opening remarks of Dr. Zarmina Baluch, Member Board of Experts, CGSS & Lecturer, Department of Political Science, Islamia College University, Peshawar. She highlighted the importance of learning about the changing trends of research and education in the field of media.
Professor Deqiang Ji explained the concept of Media Research and Education through a comprehensive presentation. Prof. Ji explained the evolution of Contemporary China through two significant phases which are from 1949-1978 and 1978-present.
Furthermore, Prof. Ji elaborated on the two sub-fields of Media Studies Journalism and Communication to the participants. According to Prof, Ji, these are two significant educational and academic fields and hold great importance for students from Media Studies background.
Lastly, Prof. Ji introduced a few of the renowned Chinese institutions for media research and education such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, etc. Moreover, Prof. Ji explained Globalization as one of the most important drivers of Chinese Media Education, The session was moderated by Ms. Palwasha Nawaz, Deputy Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, China, and Project Executive, CGSS. Notably, scholars and students from across Pakistan, China, and Tanzania have enrolled in this internship program to learn more about China.
