Regional Cooperation among Central Asian States within the Framework of the Joint Plan of Action (JPOA) for the Implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy

Republic & Turkmenistan along with Secretary-General of UN Office of Counter-Terrorism.

Meeting between Mr. Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director, Development Strategy Center, Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China at Tashkent, Uzbekistan
On 2nd March 2022, a meeting was held between Mr. Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director, Development Strategy Center, Tashkent, Uzbekistan Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Mr. Eldor was briefed about the various projects and activities undertaken by CGSS particularly related to Uzbekistan and regional connectivity. During the meeting various projects of mutual interest were also discussed and it was decided that both the institutes will jointly work in the field of research and development. Furthermore, joint Conferences and Seminars will also be organized. Mr. Eldor appreciated the initiatives and agreed to extend cooperation of Development Strategy Center in proposed projects.

Meeting between Dr. Jasur Salikhov, Rector, Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China at Tashkent, Uzbekistan
On 2nd March 2022, Mr. Khalid Taimur AkramMr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China visited Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) at Tashkent, Uzbekistan where a meeting was held with the rector Dr. Jasur Salikhov and management of the Institute. During the meeting, it was decided that both the institutes will collaboratively work on entrepreneurship trainings. Furthermore, CGSS will also support MDIS in establishment of Business Incubation Center. Furthermore, CGSS will also support MDIS in establishment of Business Incubation Center. During the meeting various projects of mutual interest were also discussed and it was decided that both the institutes will jointly work in the field of research and development.
4. Participation in the High-Level International Conference at Tashkent, Uzbekistan on "Regional Cooperation among Central Asian States within the Framework of the Joint Plan of Action (JPOA) for the Implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy"
High-Level International Conference on Regional Cooperation among Central Asian States within the Framework of the Joint Plan of Action (JPOA) for the Implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy is being organized on 3rd and 4th March 2022 at Tashkent Uzbekistan.
The conference is being organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MFA), United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China is participating in the high-level conference. The inauguration ceremony was addressed by the President of Uzbekistan, H.E Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Mr. António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General among other renowned dignitaries. The conference has invited government officials, experts, academicians, and practitioners from across the region to discuss various themes related to Joint Action Plan on Counter-Terrorism for Central Asia.
5. MoU Signing Ceremony between Development Strategy Center, Tashkent, Uzbekistan & Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad at Tashkent, Uzbekistan
On 3rd March 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Development Strategy Center, Tashkent, Uzbekistan & Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The MOU was signed by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China and Mr. Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director, Development Strategy Center, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Both institutions have agreed to collaborate in various sectors including research & publications, promotion of economic and development programs, knowledge management, training and learning programs.
The MoU have been signed to promote collaboration between Pakistan and Uzbekistan through an integrated platform. This cooperation will be a milestone for enhancing cooperation and people-to-people contact between both countries. Both parties discussed the prospects for future cooperation and agreed to work on the areas of mutual interests.

While attending the High-Level Int'l Conference on Regional Cooperation among the Central Asian States within Framework of the Joint Plan of Action (JPOA), Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China gave interviews to various Media outlets in Uzbekistan.
7. Meeting of Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad & Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (Beijing), China with H.E Huseyn Guliyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan at the sidelines of the Int'l conference Regional Cooperation among Central Asian States within the Framework of the JPoA in Uzbekistan.
