On 21st February 2022, an Online Debate Competition on ‘’China’s Contributions to Global Peace and Development’’ organized by Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China (CUC), Beijing, China
Young researchers and analysts from different universities in Pakistan took part in the competition and presented their analysis. The main themes discussed in the debate were the Evolution of China’s Position in World Trade, including the Belt and Road Initiative: A strategy to promote sustainable growth, Chinese economic development under the leadership of Xi Jinping, Community with shared future: A grand vision for prosperous future, and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: economic opportunities for Pakistan.
Different speakers shared their views and analysis regarding China’s economic growth. The participants discussed that China has achieved great economic success that cannot be matched by any other country in the world. Moreover, speakers also analyzed China’s vision of community with shared future. With the initiative of Community with Shared future, China is aiming to promote sustainable development, prosperity and resolve common challenges.
One of the young scholars discussed the visionary policies of President Xi Jinping, i.e., poverty alleviation. Chinese President Xi Jinping has become the most popular leader. Due to his successful conduct of statecraft, China has become an earnest builder of world peace, contributor to global development and a defender of international order. China is a peace-loving nation and is promoting cooperation at all levels.
Moreover, one of the researchers discussed China’s role in enhancing regional/global integration. China has emerged as a potential force to enhance regional integration and is a part of several multilateral cooperative forums. The country has provided many opportunities to the regional countries. The young speakers also discussed China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the projects of economic development. China has changed the landscape of many countries, including, African, Asian and other underdeveloped states due to robust infrastructure development.
The debate program was moderated by Ms. Ayesha Khan, Research Intern, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future. The online event was attended by 50 participants and was viewed live on various social media platforms. It is noteworthy that researchers, analysts and students from all across Pakistan participated in this online young scholar debate.

· Mr. Abid Shah, International Islamic University, Islamabad and Mr. Wajih Ullah, Bahria University Islamabad (5th position)
