On the invitation of the Russian Federation, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) attended XI Moscow Conference on “International Security (MCIS 2023) and International Military Technical Forum (Army 2023)” at Moscow, Russia on 14th - 15th August 2023. The event was attended by Military Chiefs / Ministers / delegates from more than 50 countries of the world. The opening session was exclusively addressed by His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, General Sergey Shoigu, Minister of Defence of Russian Federation, General Li Shangfu, Minister of Defense of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Sergey Naryshkin, Director of Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus and Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The main theme of this year's conference was Realities of Global Security in a Multipolar World. The main theme was divided into four plenary sessions which included Security in the Middle East and the African Continent, Security in Asia Pacific Region, One world - Common Security and Conditions / Expectations in the Interaction of Defence Agencies.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) was one of the Key note speakers at the session “One world - Common Security”. His speech was on the topic “Challenges / Impediments in Central - South Asia Connectivity”. The session was moderated by Major General Evgeny Ilin, Department of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The Russian Government had also invited about 30 top level international relations experts from all over the world for attending this important conference.
On the sidelines of the conference Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram also met with General Li Shangfu, Minister of Defence of the People’s Republic of China. During the meeting the Chinese Defence Minister said that China always takes Pakistan as iron brother and gave his best wishes for the People of Pakistan. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese Defence Minister during his keynote speech explained the Concept of Global Security Initiative and also emphasized that China is a strong advocate of Peace in all countries of the world.
