Ji Deqiang

Deputy Dean of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future

Research Fellow of the State Key Laboratory of Media Convergence and Communication

 


Ji Deqiang is a Professor of International Communication at Communication University of China. He is the Deputy Dean of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future and a Research Fellow of the State Key Laboratory of Media Convergence and Communication at CUC. He was a visiting researcher at Simon Fraser University (2010-2011) and City University of Hong Kong (2009).

 

He is selected by several prestigious national-level talent projects and won many national academic awards in media and communication studies. Since 2016, he has been serving as the Vice Chair of the International Communication Section of International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), Managing Editor and Commissioning Editor for International Magazines, and Editorial Board Member of Annals of the International Communication Association (Routledge), etc.

 

His research covers several interrelated fields including media and digitization, political economy of communication, and international communication. His publications can be found in several International Journals. He authored books and many chapters such as the China-Africa communication chapter in China and the Global Media Landscape (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2019), the China chapter in Reshaping the Global Communication Order? Reshaping the Global Communication Order? (Routledge, 2020).
