Li Huailiang

Dean of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future



Li Huailiang is distinguished professor in International Cultural Trade in China. Li Huailiang is currently a distinguished professor, Ph.D. supervisor, and Vice Chairman of China Society of Media Economics and Management. He also served as a senior visiting scholar at George Washington University, USA (2016-2017) and a part-time Ph.D. Supervisor at Queensland University of Technology, Australia (2013-2015). Previously, he was the director of the National Theoretical Research Base for Foreign Cultural Trade and a member of the Public Cultural Service Expert Committee of the Ministry of Culture.

 

Professor Li Huailiang has been instrumental in shaping important cultural policies and documents in China, including providing support in the revision and demonstration of the ‘Guiding Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving the Work of Chinese Culture Going Global’, which was issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. He has also been a judge for many prestigious awards and projects, such as the Five One Project Award, the National Cultural Industry Funding Project, the Animation Products Export Award Project, and the China Excellent Export Repertoire Award Project.

 

Li Huailiang has authored and published over 100 research articles on topics related to culture, international cultural trade, and the cultural industry in mainstream Chinese newspapers and periodicals such as Qiushi, Literary Translation Theory, Literary and Art Research, Xinhua Digest, and Hongqi Manuscripts. Some of his notable works include Contemporary International Cultural Trade and Competition, International Cultural Trade Theory, and International Cultural Market Research. As a chief expert on major art projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, Li Huailiang has presided over significant research initiatives and has completed over 30 projects entrusted by national, provincial, and ministerial levels, as well as local governments.
